The purpose of this blog is to show the development of my Final Year Project, Trials of Odin. Trials of Odin is a game prototype. It is a Third Person Action game set in an arena, the protagonist is Thor, and as such you possess some of his abilities. The player must defend themselves from any of the evil beings that are sent to them. The game will have a God of War influenced combat system due to the similarities between the two characters, and could also include an opportunity to unlock upgrades if time permits.
So far, I have created a custom animation blueprint for use in my project from animations found on Mixamo. I did this in order to seperate my game from the standard UE4 look from the beginning, I have also created a blueprint that throws and recalls the player's weapon.
As well as this, I also created a Trello board so that I can keep on top of everything I need in order to complete the project to it's fullest. I will include this at the end of each blog post in order to display my progress.
For next week, I aim to have refined the animation blueprint and have started on creating the combat system.
